Building Our Modern Farmhouse
After years of talking about it and waiting for the right time (if there is such a thing), we closed on the perfect property in 2020.
We went through some serious struggles getting started on our build. It took over six months just to secure permits after regulatory disputes with between the city and county. After many painful months of back and forth. We began building our modern farmhouse in the spring of 2021.
Every aspect, from the floor plan to the finishes, was custom designed and selected by us. We are so excited for our kids to grow up here and to continue to improve the property.
ABOUT IRIS ACRES
In true Chip and Joanna Gaines fashion, we are named this place “Iris Acres”.
This property and the one adjacent was a working Iris Farm for the past 20 years before the owner sold the business and subsequently sold the land. There are actually still a few strips of irises out in the pasture that have served over the years. Pretty cool, right?
